Arizona Pool Safety Tips for the Summer

Arizona Pool Safety Tips for the Summer

Arizona Pool Safety Tips for the SummerArizona is called the Valley of the Sun for a reason and more often than not, people of all ages choose the pool as the perfect way to enjoy Arizona summers. However on average, nearly ninety people die from drowning in Arizona each year with the majority of those deaths happening between April and August. You can help prevent summer drownings by remembering these Arizona pool safety tips for the summer.

  • Never leave a child alone near water. If you must leave, take your child or children with you.
  • Enroll children over age three in swimming lessons taught by qualified instructors.
  • Always use approved personal flotation devices (life jackets).
  • All gate locks and latches should be checked regularly to insure they are working properly and adhere to Arizona residential pool codes and standards. Also, a gate should never be left propped open.
  • All residential pool owners should attend water rescue and CPR/CCR classes. Otherwise CPR/CCR instructions and the 911 emergency number (or local emergency number) should be posted in the pool area.

Water play is fun, but water safety is serious business and should be a high priority this summer. Remembering these Arizona pool safety tips for the summer can keep your outdoor activities fun, and your friends and family safe for many summers to come

3 Cool Hacks for House Hunting in the Summer

3 Cool Hacks for House Hunting in the Summer

3 Cool Hacks for House Hunting in the SummerWe all know Arizona is notorious for having over three hundred days of sunshine, so it’s no surprise that at some point you may find yourself house hunting in the summer. Though summer isn’t “officially” here yet, there’s no denying that Arizona’s temperatures are on the rise. Wondering how you’re going to survive searching for a home in the heat? Here are 3 cool hacks for house hunting in the summer.

1.) Start early

Not interested in house hunting mid-day in 115 degree weather? Try to schedule your showings in the morning between 8:30 am and noon before things really start to heat up. Can’t do mornings? Ask your real estate agent if you can see homes in the early evenings between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm. It may still be warm out, but it’ll be a lot more bearable and not as blazing hot.

2.) Plan ahead

Depending on where the homes you want to view are located, it’d be best to have your Realtor® map out homes that are close to one another. Having a clear plan of which homes you want to visit will help lessen the amount of time you’re traveling in the heat.

3.) Hydrate often

House hunting while dehydrated could seriously dampen the joy of the experience as well as cloud your judgement. Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated is extremely important in dry climates like Arizona and especially during the hottest months of the year. Pack a few bottles of water with you while you work up a sweat shopping for your new Arizona home.

Don’t let fear of heat stroke keep you from house hunting this summer, because summer is the perfect time to buy! If you’re looking to buy or sell a home in the Phoenix area, please contact The Voss team regarding any real estate need, whether large or small.  We will help you with the entire home selling and buying process, and be sure to make your experience a positive memorable one every step of the way.
